Redwall Role-Play

Lyra pulled her sword out of its scabbard and started to polish the blade with a rag.

She caught a wiff of Lyra's scent and followed the trail.

"Lrya..." Nala said softly, with a stroke of mysteriousness. (Now, Nala's just messing with her...but for a good reason...to make sure she's alert.)

The point of a sword touched the back of Nala's neck.

Nala whirled around swiftly, dagger in hand.

Lyra was glaring at her. "What are you doing here?!"

"Going to have a drink with Hades," she said, voice saturated with sarcasm.

"That's a really bad idea."

"I know, you idiot!" Nala hissed. "Can't you detect sarcasm?"

Lyra glared at her. "Of course I can! I'm just saying that's an insane idea! You'll get us both killed if you're seen here!"

"Trust me, I'm a professional at this sort of thing...I'm a freaking domestic cat. Besides, Hades doesn't know anything about my involvement with Ragnar. What he doesn't know won't hurt him. I was checking up on you since I have nothing else to do."

Lyra re-sheathed her sword, glaring at Nala.


  

Nala gave a small bow...as if she had just finished a marvelous performance.

Those last few posts were fun to write.

Lyra folded her arms. "If I'm seen talking to you...!"


I know!

"Hades thinks I'm on his side for blazes sake! He thinks he pays me right, but Ragnar pays more."

Should I involve Hades now? [evil grin]

A slight flicker of relief showed in Lyra's eyes. "Good."



If you want  

"So...what are you doing?"

I shall.    [evil grin]

"Absolutely nothing. It's incredibly boring around here."

And Hades choose that moment to come in. "Well, well, well...look what the wolf dragged in. A ferret and a cat."

Lyra's entire body stiffened and her eyes grew ice cold. She turned to face Hades, dipping her head slightly.

"And where the heck have you been?" he asked.
"Doing my nightly rounds...you know cats can be nocturnal," Nala answered smoothly.
"And you?" Hades asked of Lyra.

Lyra kept her eyes lowered, she didn't respond.


Can we put it that Hades thinks that Lyra is mute?

"When I asked a question," Hades said. "You answer me."

I mean...sure, but what for?

Hades won't believe much of what Nala says since she's a gray.

Lyra didn't move.


Lyra doesn't talk around people like him, because she's betrayed horde leaders before. If you can't talk, you're not much of a suspect for giving information to the enemy.
