She passed out. She'll recover later.

Alder scooped her up, her body heavy in his arms, and headed off towards his house.

Shaki followed.

Alder sensed he was being followed. "Shaki, if that's you, you need not be afraid. You can come out."

Shaki stayed hidden.

"I know you're there, Shaki. You can trust me. I won't hurt you."

Shaki finally crept out into the open.

Alder sat on the ground and watched as Shaki crept into the open. He was suddenly glad he wasn't in his battle gear.

Shaki huddled close to the ground, shivering. He stated at Alder with a frightened look in his eyes.

"It's all right, Shaki...I won't hurt you."

Shaki didn't move.

"Shaki?" he asked softly.

Shaki flinched.

"Everything will be all right. All you have to do is come with me. There's hot food and a warm bed just waiting for an inhabitant. We can deal with your sister in the morning."

Shaki tilted his head slightly, but didn't move.

Alder stood up and started leading the way to his place. After a few steps, he turned around and beckoned for Shaki to come with him. "How does some fire roasted slices of meat and a nice soft pillow sound to you?"

Shaki tilted his head slightly.

"Can I take that as a 'Yes that sounds good to me.'?"

Shaki didn't move.

"Come on." Alder beckoned.
