"Shaki does not belong on Denduron! If you think he's not safe on Eelong, then he certainly isn't safe on Denduron! Trust me! I've lived on Denduron my whole life and seen some pretty crazy things! He'll be safe with Bobby; Bobby knows what he's doing! That's why he's the head of my generation of Travelers!"

Kara snarled. "Try taking him away and you'll regret it!"

"You know you can't kill me."

As I'm sure you remember, Travelers are technically 'immortal'.

"No, I can't! But I can still injure you!"

"It won't do you any good, I can tell you that."

Kara hissed.

He pointed to his house. "You get in there while I deal with your brother."

Kara snarled. "No!"

"Yes, you will!" Alder said, an tone of authoritativeness in his voice...something odd to him.

Kara yowled. "No! I won't!"

"I have the authority with these decisions whether you like it or not!"

"He's my brother though! And I am not backing down no matter how many times you tell me to!"

"He will be safest in Solara if you're that concerned for his safety! He is not allowed on this mission and shouldn't even be on Denduron in the first place."

It is rare for Alder to raise his voice or be angry.

Kara hissed. "I don't care!"

Same with Kara actually. Alder and the others have driven her slightly insane.

"Why did you bring him to me, then?"

"I didn't!"

"Yeah, you did! You're obviously here, and that's what he told me."

Kara yowled. "Only place I knew he'd be safe! I brought him to this territory! Not to you specifically!"

Ader snorted. "If you think he's not safe on Eelong, then he's probably not safe here either. I've told you a million times that he's safest on Solara!"

"And I don't think that!"

"I can tell you that you are wrong!"

Why is Kara arguing with Alder?

Kata whirled around and took off.

She doesn't trust the other Travelers.

"And where do you think you're going?"

Kara just kept running.

Alder glared, but didn't go after her. He turned back to Shaki. "Come with me," he said softly.
