The Underland Tales

Kindle make a slight sound in her throat and the tiger backed up to stand next to her.

Both Rollo and Nick tentatively and warily swathed their swords.
Aurora whirled around to face Kindle. "These are Overland animals. They do not belong in the Underland."

Kindle rested her hand on the tigers head. "They wouldn't be here if it wasn't for a good reason."

"The give that reason to me."

"I don't know."

"You don't know?!"

"I'm not the one who brought them here."

"Do you know who did?"

"No."

"Well..." Aurora concluded. "We still have to return them. We can't have Overland animals roaming the tunnels of the Underland."

Kindle's eyes flashed with rage.

"It's a safety hazard."

"They aren't bothering anyone! You're the ones bothering us!"

Anger sparked in Aurora's age. "I'mm not bothering you...you're brewing one of Regalia's laws, I'm sure of it. These animals are a safety hazard!"

"How?!"

"Not only could the animals cause injuries to others if they stampeded the tunnels, but they would cause issues with the other animals in the Underland!"

"They're not going to be stampeding the tunnels! If you hadn't noticed I've got them pretty well contained!"

"I noticed, and I don't trust your confinement techniques," Aurora said sharply. "Besides, I'm sure the gnawers would be able to find them and cause chaos."

"They haven't yet!"

"You don't know that!"

"Actually I do!"

"How would you know?!"

The tiger snarled again. "Because... we told... her!"

"And how would you know?!"

"Because... we are... the only ones... here."
